Nelson Mandela Day: IIE RC Alumni Give Back to DR Knak Primary School in Alexandra

Nelson Mandela Day is a global call to action that celebrates the idea that everyone has the power to transform the world. Lebohang Lerotholi, an IIE RC Alumni and Managing Director of Lethukuthula Group, embarked on a rainbow bookshelf painting initiative to make a meaningful impact at DR Knak Primary School in Alexandra. Lebohang is known for her passion for youth empowerment and community upliftment, so she invited the IIE RC Alumni Desk to join her as she displays her commitment to giving back to the community. Alongside her, a group of graduates currently participating in an internship programme at her company, Lethukuthula Group Pty Ltd, eagerly joined this noble cause.

The team dedicated 67 minutes to create a vibrant and inspiring environment for young learners by painting a mini bookshelf in the colours of the rainbow. This project, aimed at promoting a love for reading and learning among the students, is a testament to the community spirit and giving back as Nelson Mandela championed.

"It's about creating spaces that inspire and nurture the next generation. We hope this bookshelf will not only hold books but also dreams and aspirations," Lerotholi emphasised.

The collaboration highlighted the strong sense of community and shared purpose that defines the IIE RC Alumni Community.
