Theresa Nicholas is the Campus Head at IIE Rosebank College Pietermaritzburg since January 2022. She has a unique combination of diverse academic knowledge, extensive corporate leadership and a number of years as an accomplished international educator.
Theresa spent the early part of her career as a lecturer at Parktown College and Damelin. Together with a partner, she successfully built a national franchise organization and was awarded “Best Business Plan” in the National Business Initiative, Enterprise Competition 2002. She has also spent several years abroad as Head of Department and teacher of Business Management, Economics, and Theory of Knowledge in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program to students in Malaysia, the Netherlands, and Poland. Theresa also acted as supervisor for IBDP students completing their Extended Essays.
As a keen advocate for and affirmer of the value and worth of employees, she completed her master’s thesis focusing on employee motivation. Theresa is pursuing a PhD Strategic Human Resources Management, focusing on creating a culture of psychological safety within the workplace. In short, her philosophy can be summarized by the words of Verna Myers: “Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance”.
