IIE Bachelor of Public Administration

Overview

​This Public Administration qualification gives students the stepping stone they need to pursue a career in the public and non-profit sector. This IIE qualification looks at the fundamental areas of public administration, municipal management combined with a focus on the political environment and the role of ethics.

SKILLS YOU WILL DEVELOP

On completion, the IIE graduate will be skilled in areas of administration, which includes financial management and control, human resource management, local government administration, public policy, ethical leadership, and political science which are essential within the public sector.

DURATION

This is a three-year qualification offered by The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) at IIE Rosebank College.

MODE OF DELIVERY

Accreditation

The IIE Bachelor of Public Administration is accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and is registered by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) as a 363-credit qualification on Level 7 (SAQA ID No: 96410). On successful completion you will receive a Degree in Bachelor of Public Administration from The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), a leading registered private provider of higher education in South Africa.

Examination

Exams are written at an exam centre and, in some instances, online. These details will be specified in your programme assessment schedule.

Device Requirements

DEVICE AND CONNECTIVITY SPECIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR ONLINE STUDY:

• Reliable internet connection (we recommend 5-10 GB of data per month and an internet speed of at least 0.15 Mbps)
• Desktop PC or laptop with at least an i3 processor and 4GB RAM memory
• Windows 8 or macOS 10.15 (Microsoft Office 365 is available as a free download for IIE students), and Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge Chromium or Firefox
• A working webcam and microphone
• An uninterrupted power supply is also highly recommended
